A private dog field gives you a booked session in a particular space. Before paying, check what your chosen park offers: exclusive use, entry arrangements, facilities and booking rules can differ between operators.

1. Choose the field around your dog

Start with the location and setting, then look at the details. Consider the enclosure, parking arrangements, ground conditions and any facilities you need. If the listing does not answer an important question, ask the operator before booking. A description such as “secure” should not replace checking whether a particular field suits your dog.

2. Read the booking details

Check the session length, number of dogs included, cancellation arrangements and any restrictions that apply to your visit. Save the confirmation, directions and access instructions somewhere you can find them easily. Allow time to leave the enclosure within your booked slot.

3. Pack a few useful things

• Your dog’s lead and the booking confirmation.
• Waste bags, even if the operator normally supplies them.
• Water and a bowl, especially if availability at the park is uncertain.
• A towel and suitable footwear for the conditions.
• Any toys or training items permitted by the park’s rules.

4. Follow the arrival instructions

Use the designated parking and waiting areas. Keep your dog on a lead until you are inside the enclosure and the entrance is properly secured. If the previous visitor has not left, follow the park’s handover instructions and give them space to finish.

5. Take a moment before you start

Locate the exit, check the entrance is closed and take a look around. If you spot a damaged boundary, an unsecured gate or another concern, keep your dog on the lead and contact the operator. Stay with your dog throughout the session and follow the park’s instructions for equipment and facilities.

6. Leave it ready for the next visitor

Pick up after your dog, collect your belongings and use the bins as instructed. Have your dog back on the lead before opening the exit. Close and secure gates as the operator requests, and finish within your booking time.
