Ashdown Paddock is a three-acre field for private dog exercise near Upper Lambourn. Grassland, wildflowers and an earth mound create a varied space for exploring and sniffing, with shorter grass in the lower part of the paddock.
The perimeter has 1.8-metre fencing. A field shelter, picnic bench, dog waste bin and agility equipment are provided. Drinking water and a bowl are available, although the operator cannot guarantee the water supply. CCTV operates on site.
Park in the roadside lay-by and walk approximately 200 metres along the bridleway to the entrance. Vehicles cannot access the paddock. Keep dogs on leads until inside with the gate closed; horses may be in neighbouring fields.
Book directly through Ashdown Paddock’s website. Hourly bookings include five minutes at the end for changeover. The natural ground can be uneven, and the operator advises that the field is unsuitable for very small dogs or dogs that burrow.
The paddock is off the B4000 between Upper Lambourn and Ashbury, near Ashdown House. From Upper Lambourn, continue approximately 1.5 miles towards Ashbury and look for the gravel lay-by on the left before the Oxfordshire boundary sign. Park only in the lay-by and use the pedestrian gate, then walk along the bridleway. RG17 8RE is the nearest postcode, but does not take you to the entrance. Follow the operator’s location page and map coordinates.
